Sensory Activities for Seniors and Family
from:There are many different sensory activities for seniors, their friends and their family all to enjoy. As you get older, things don’t always work like they once did. Performing sensory activities for seniors is a great way to keep your mind and body as sharp as possible as you go through these ages and stages of getting older.
There are classes that teach you sensory activities for seniors. Aspects of these classes include eye tracking, playing with rhythm sequences using bouncing balls, various combination patterns of the basic bag and ball skills, and double focus activities (such as one hand doing one thing while the other one does something else.) You might look in your local community to find out where such classes are offered and how you can sign up yourself.
It is reported that sensory activities will help you with:
* Whole brain availability
* Focus and concentration
* Physical coordination
* Mental capacity
* Listening skills
* Eye movements (tracking, teaming)
* Visual form perception (discrimination of details)
* Eye-hand coordination
* Balance and stability
* Knowing where you are in space
There are some other options as well. If you are looking for some fantastic sensory activities for seniors or even for anyone of any age, try some online games and puzzles.
